Water Sports in Vieques
Below you will find the listings of all
there is to do on, in, or under the water, while in Vieques. The
diving is excellent almost everywhere visibility wise, unless there
is storm surf, then it depends which side of the island you're on.
Right in Esperanza there is always something to see underwater, and
a good place to start is under the old Sugar Pier. The Blue Caribe
Kayaks will take you out for snorkeling and Nan-Sea Charters has SCUBA tours to
offshore or otherwise inaccessible areas. You can rent kayaks
from Blue Caribe or Vieques Water Sports. They both have snorkel
gear available also.
You can kayak on Bio-Bay at night with Blue Caribe
kayaks, Blue Heron Kayak Tours, or Aqua Frenzy or go by boat with Sharon of Island
Adventures. These companies who have been given permits by D.R.N.
(Departmento Recurses Naturale) to take people on the Bay.
If you're looking to try your hand at fishing in
Vieques, Call Caribbean Fly Fishing or hunt down Che Ché. If you have a
"need for speed", you can rent a jet ski from Fun Brothers. |
